Red Carpet 2021 Favorites

Looks from the VMA, the Met Gala and the Emmy Awards.

In August and September we had the VMA, the Met Gala and the Emmy Awards.

And we made a summary of the three events to inspire and kill the nostalgia of a fashion party.

The first event took place on August 11, the 2021 edition of the Video Music Awards (VMA 2021) that brought together the biggest names in music to reward the best music videos of the last year. Just like the Cannes Film Festival and the BRIT Awards, more recently, the return of the red carpet brought to the viewers' eyes one of our favorite parts: the extravagant looks — with an emphasis on leather pieces, transparency and tailoring. This time, even with our "Girl From Rio".

The first Brazilian artist to perform at the event, Anitta continues to represent Brazil around the world. For the red carpet, the singer appeared stunning in a Miss Sohee dress. The entire piece in black stood out with white colors on the bodice, with a transparent neckline on the belly, and on long gloves.

Transparency also gave tone to actress Megan Fox's look. Mugler's specially customized look, probably the winner in the "viral on social media" category, blended into the celebrity's body.

The combination of red and pink can be one of the most used trends in the latest red carpets. For the VMA, who made a (beautiful) representation was Camila Cabello.

From Dolce & Gabbana, Tinashe composed the common look of a short black top and low-rise drawstring pants. The pants drew a slit that was joined by a zigzage seam.

For "Variety", the singer revealed to have been inspired by the fashion of the 2000s. Doja Cat invested in a draped bodice by Andreas Kronthaler, for the brand Vivienne Westwood, taking a vampire style with a mixture of wine, black and purple.

There was no lack of cutouts in different regions, such as hips, waists and busts. Jennifer Lopez, for example, appeared exuberant in a David Koma dress.

For the 2021 edition of the VMA, luckily we could see men stepping out of the comfort zone of the classic black and white suit.

Lil Nas X. The rapper played with gender issues with the clothes once again. For VMA 2021, the American paid tribute to iconic artist Prince. With the right to mullets in large extensions, the Atlier Versace dress mixed tailoring cuts. All this worked in purple color, after all, we are revering the voice of "Purple Rain".

Machine Gun Kelly the singer — and Megan Fox's partner, took the red carpet to their own look with a suit in the same color as Dolce & Gabbana. The shiny, edgy look was taken to another level with the accessories.

Canadian Shawn Mendes left the white tank aside and graced us by dressing Mans' tailoring. With all the pieces in white, with the exception of the shoes, the oversized look gained greater proportions with the use of a blouse that was more low-cut in the singer's bust.

Before the two days of the VMA we had the Met Gala considered the biggest fashion showcase, it's an extravagant reminder of the world before the pandemic.

This year's Met Gala theme was: "In America: A Fashion Lexicon", with the aim of celebrating North American fashion. Political and social movements were some of the reasons why Andrew Bolton, responsible for curating the exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and collaborator Wendy Yu, chose to address this issue from three perspectives: diversity, inclusion and sustainability. The chosen hosts four young people are part of this "revolution": actor Timothée Chalamet, singer Billie Eilish, tennis player Naomi Osaka, and poet Amanda Gorman - source:

In a reduced version, as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, the extravagance for which the Met Gala is known was not left out. Even further, it served as a nostalgic reminder of what we've been missing for nearly two years.

One of the biggest expectations of those who watch the Met Gala red carpet are the most creative looks. When clothing goes beyond aesthetics and challenges the most diverse interpretations of those who wear it and, above all, of those who admire it. The artist Lorde was one of the guests to enter this universe. Wearing a Bode dress, the "Solar Power" singer seems to have taken the part of the song in which she says she is "a kind of prettier Jesus" with a light look and covered with gemstones.

Kim Kardashian, on the other hand, was fully dressed as a Balenciaga — literally, she hid her entire body and face. He hid while posing for photographers.

Jagger's youtuber Nikkie looked straight out of the "Midsommar" movie, with flowers all over her body, including a crown entwined in her hair. Which, in fact, was a tribute to Marsha P Johnson, an activist in the LGBTQIA+ movement.

The revelation was up to Lil Nas X. The rapper transformed a look into three: from an almost medieval blanket, passing through a golden armor, and finally revealing a body all in shiny. All on Versace's account.

Too much time indoors may have made us too comfortable. In the most recent collections, sensuality already appears as a trend for what we are going to wear, and the Met Gala can prove it to us.

Peter Dunas, former Creative Director of Cavalli, dressed Anitta and also actress Megan Fox in a red dress that explored similar approaches. .

Leaving the Met Gala but continuing on the red carpet we had the emmy awards Event that rewards the best in television and streaming in the United StatesThe 73rd edition of the Primetime Emmy Awards, the most important awards for television programs and streaming services in the United States, took place at night of September 19 in Los Angeles, and we separated the favorite looks!

And then did you feel like a Gala party? I'm crazy about one!
